Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos and the National Football League’s (NFL) Carolina Panthers have entered a five-year agreement, making Harrah’s the team’s official sponsor.
Caesars corporate introduced the partnership concept to Harrah’s Cherokee and the Panthers to increase the casino’s exposure, according to Brian Saunooke, Harrah’s Cherokee Regional Vice President of Marketing.
Securing the deal with the NFL had been a lengthy process, “because the NFL is a brand that has worked so hard to build their brand, they’re also protective of their brand. And sponsorship agreements such as that, they tend to be a lot more detailed and lengthy contracts,” Saunooke told the Cherokee One Feather.
Saunooke added that he sees no reason for the five-year deal not to “develop into a longer-term relationship.”
The Tribal casino gets the naming rights to Champions Village, the Panther’s pregame hospitality venue, now dubbed Harrah’s Cherokee Champions Village. The casino will also sponsor the 5th Quarter post-game fan watch party.
Through the agreement, Harrah’s Cherokee will provide top-tier prizes for the new, free to play Panthers Pick’em game.
The Panthers Pick’em experience, offered within the Panthers mobile app, allows fans to predict game action and results for the opportunities to get points and win prizes, including weekend stays at Harrah’s Cherokee.
Commenting on the new partnership, Paul McGoohan, Vice President of Business Development for the Carolina Panthers said:
“We are delighted to launch Panthers Pick’em this season, offering a new way to engage with Panthers games and that Harrah’s Cherokee is offering unique prizes for fans. We are also pleased to be expanding the popular 5th Quarter this campaign and are excited that Harrah’s is partnering with us to give fans across the Carolinas more ways to enjoy their visit.”
Brooks Robinson, Regional Senior Vice President and General Manager for Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos, expressed his excitement for the opportunity to partner with the team:
“We are excited to begin this partnership with the Carolina Panthers,” said Robinson. “With opportunities that include naming rights to Champions Village, sponsoring the 5th Quarter and more we can be part of the game day experience for Panthers fans. That’s exciting!”
