Kelly McKinnon started at Mohegan Sun in 2006 as a Budget Analyst; now she has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer.
McKinnon will rejoin the Mohegan Sun team after spending the last 15 months at the Corporate division of Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment (MGE), serving as the Director of Analytics. As the CFO, McKinnon will oversee all aspects of finance for MGE’s flagship property, Mohegan Sun, located in Uncasville, Connecticut.
“Kelly is a driven, hands-on, team-oriented leader,” said Jeff Hamilton, President & General Manager of Mohegan Sun, in a press release. “She has been such a vital part of the Finance and Analytics team at Mohegan Sun and MGE for many years, and we are extremely excited to welcome her back to the Mohegan Sun team as CFO.”
McKinnon has held many positions since her first as a Budget Analyst, including Financial Planning & Analysis Manager and Director of Financial Planning & Analysis.
As Director of Financial Planning & Analysis she developed and analyzed ideas to grow the business. McKinnon also led the Labor & Productivity department, and was instrumental in centralizing its scheduling, time, and attendance functions. In 2019, she was promoted to Director of Analytics for Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, where she contributed to many enterprise-wide business decisions and ventures, including the acquisition of Casino Niagara and Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls, Canada.
McKinnon attended Quinnipiac University, where she obtained a BS in Finance and an MBA.
