During the pandemic, online gambling platforms gained a larger user base, according to a recent report entitled “Online Gambling Market Global Report 2020-30: COVID-19 Growth and Change” by The Business Research Company, which announced its market overview, analysis and forecast today.
Particularly during the shelter-at-home stage of the pandemic, increased internet traffic on all fronts led people to visit gaming websites more frequently, and thousands of new users registered daily.
According to research firm Global Poker, the U.S. has witnessed an increase of first-time online poker players by 255% since the onset of the coronavirus outbreak. Globally, the poker industry has experienced a 43% growth since April 2020.
Various states and countries saw revenue opportunities and modified their gaming laws this year. Meanwhile, several online-gambling platforms increased their marketing and promotional activities in the form of extra tournaments and bonuses to attract more players.
With these drivers and the current state of the world, the online gambling market size is expected to grow from $58.96 billion in 2019 to $92.86 billion in 2023 at a rate of 12%, according to recent released report by The Business Research Company. The market is expected to then grow to $113.12 billion in 2025 at a CAGR of 10.4%.
Continuously changing consumer gambling habits and wider legalization of gambling are expected to keep driving the market.
That’s something Tribes are actively tapping — and the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians is the most recent gaming Tribe to announce plans to create an innovative gaming app.
The Tribe owns and operates three California-based locations: Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs, Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage, and coming later this fall, Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City.
Now the Tribe has partnered with GAN to launch its Play Agua® social casino site and app for the Agua Caliente Casinos to bring social casino gaming live on iOS, Android, and desktop platforms. The app will also integrate with Agua Caliente’s loyalty membership rewards program, the ACE Club, in hopes of turning some of these casual players into more loyal customers.
Powered by GAN’s simulated gaming software, the Tribal gaming enterprise’s partnership with GAN entails the gaming tech company rendering marketing services for player acquisition and retention.
Bill Oliver, CIO of Agua Caliente Casinos, said the gaming arm looks “forward to delivering existing and new customers with a seamless experience across all platforms.”
Meanwhile, Jeff Berman, Chief Commercial Officer of GAN, commented on the ability of GAN’s software to seamlessly integrate with loyalty programs, while expanding the casinos’ virtual reach well beyond the state of California. “Our new partnership with Agua Caliente Casinos will help them provide an enhanced social casino gaming experience and gain awareness and exposure to new states,” he said.
