San Manuel Casino Sponsors Raiders, Becomes Founding Partner of NFL Team’s Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas

The Raiders and Allegiant Stadium have partnered with San Manuel Casino, designating San Manuel as a founding partner of the stadium and a sponsor of the team for the 2020 football season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Raiders President Marc Badain, San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Chairwoman Lynn Valbuena and San Manuel Band of Mission Indians CEO Loren Gill announced the partnership at a press conference on Monday afternoon, October 14th, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, at the Raiders Preview Center In Las Vegas.

San Manuel elected officials and key staff also attended the press conference to celebrate the coming together of two established brands in the Southern California and Las Vegas markets. San Manuel Casino in Highland, California, is a roughly 60-minute drive from downtown Los Angeles.

The new Allegiant Stadium is currently rising out of the ground on I-15 in Las Vegas. The Raiders have transitioned between the Oakland, Los Angeles and Sacramento markets since its founding in 1960. Now the team has now secured a home in Las Vegas, and will begin play at Allegiant Stadium in 2020.

“We’ve talked a lot about how this project was going to become transformative for the city, transformative for this region, transformative for the Raiders, and also transformative for our partners — those that chose to be a part of this project and a part of the building. The next founding partner of Allegiant Stadium is San Manuel Casino, and we’re really excited to have them here. We’ve had a long history; we’ve been in multiple markets. As everybody knows, we like to say that it’s all part of our DNA. Our history in Las Angeles was a very significant one, a very successful one,” Raiders President Marc Badain said. “We maintain a very strong fanbase in the Southern California area. …It’s a great tie-in, it’s a great brand,” he said of San Manuel Casino.

“San Manuel does wonderful things in the community. They’ve been a huge success story in the southern California market. We think they’re going to add a tremendous amount of excitement and enthusiasm to this project … a piece of the building will be named after them. We’re really, really thrilled that they chose to be on board with us, and we look forward to them joining a very impressive list of founding partners at Allegiant Stadium.”

Chairwoman Valbuena took the podium and said hello and welcome in the Serrano language. “We’re so excited to team up with the Raiders; what a beautiful stadium. Like us, the Raiders have deep roots. San Manuel is always about supporting the fans and building and strengthening the communities. We’re very, very excited about moving forward with a partnership with the Raiders.”

Valbuena added: “We look forward to giving our guests more access to thrilling sports and entertainment through this partnership with Allegiant Stadium and the Raiders.”

San Manuel Casino CEO Loren Gil also delivered remarks to commemorate the casino’s new partnership “with a great sport franchise.”

Gil said, “On behalf of more than 5,000 employees at the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and San Manuel Casino, we are all proud of this partnership. This is a fantastic organization that we’ve chosen to be a part of, and their historic legacy is one that is so important to our fans, their fans and their customers in Southern California.”
