SheNative’s flagship Saskatoon store is now open for business at 714A 2nd Ave N. — a milestone that’s been in SheNative Founder Devon Fiddler’s sights for years.
Founded by Fiddler in 2014, SheNative is a fashion lifestyle brand committed to creating positive opportunities for Indigenous women and girls. The company’s mission is to help change the perception of the Indigenous woman by providing a platform for them to elevate — telling their stories, creating employment opportunities for Indigenous artisans, suppliers, and designers, and contributing a portion of its sales to causes that support the economic vitality of Indigenous women. Since its inception, SheNative has hosted a variety of pop-up shops in Saskatoon. By opening its flagship store, Fiddler is positioned to skyrocket SheNative’s mission, becoming a permanent fixture in Saskatoon’s entrepreneurial community.
“SheNative doesn’t just make handbags and apparel for women,” explains Fiddler, “Our goods are a reflection of who we are as women. Every woman is a warrior. Every woman deserves to be treated with honour.”
As an Indigenous influencer who’s been invited to speak across Canada about her entrepreneurial journey, Fiddler’s mission is much the same, “With influence comes great responsibility,” asserts Fiddler, “This is not something I take lightly. I’m here to elevate Indigenous women and girls so they become the people they want to be — in Canada and beyond.”
