Wind Creek and Betfred USA will host a grand opening for invited guests on November 21, 2020 to formally introduce the retail sportsbook to the local market. In coming weeks, the parties will launch an online sportsbook powered by Betfred Sports.
The Alabama-based Poarch Band of Creek Indians closed on its $1.3 billion purchase of a casino in Pennsylvania in May 2019. Less than a year later, The Tribe’s casino, Wind Creek Bethlehem, like gaming establishments across the nation, temporarily shut it doors on March 15th. While still closed, in May of this year, the Tribe submitted its application to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board seeking a sports wagering certificate.
And on November 18th, Wind Creek Hospitality and Betfred USA Sports announced the opening of Wind Creek’s first sportsbook in the United States.
The retail sportsbook launch will be followed, in coming weeks, by the launch of the online sportsbook powered by Betfred Sports. Both online and mobile betting are legal statewide in the state of Pennsylvania.
